Privacy Policy

Effective July 28, 2026

1. Who We Are

Sister Warriors Freedom Coalition (“we,” “us,” or “our”) is a California-wide coalition of formerly and currently incarcerated and system-impacted women and trans people organizing for gender justice. This policy explains what information we collect through this website, how we use it, and the choices you have. We know firsthand why privacy matters — especially for system-impacted people — and we treat your information with that seriousness.

2. Information We Collect

Information you give us. When you become a member, sign up for updates, or take action through our forms, we collect the information you provide: your name, postal address, email address, phone number, and your communication preferences (email and/or text). When you register for an event, registration may be handled through Eventbrite or Zoom. When you donate, our fundraising platform Givebutter collects your name, contact information, and donation details on our behalf.

Information collected automatically. Like most websites, we use cookies and similar technologies to understand how the Site is used — things like the pages you visit, the device and browser you use, and how you found us. See “Analytics and Advertising” below.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to: send you the updates you signed up for; organize chapters, events, and campaigns; process and acknowledge donations; respond when you contact us; improve our website and outreach; and meet legal and reporting obligations. We do not sell your personal information — ever.

4. Email and Text Messages

If you opt in to email updates, every email includes an unsubscribe link. If you opt in to text updates, message frequency varies and message and data rates may apply; you can reply STOP to any message to opt out, or HELP for help. Consent to receive texts is not a condition of membership or of receiving services. No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.

5. Donations and Payments

Donations are processed by Givebutter and its PCI-compliant payment processors (such as Stripe). Your payment card details are collected and processed by those services — we never receive or store your full card number. Givebutter shares your name, contact information, and donation details with us so we can acknowledge your gift and keep proper records.

6. Analytics and Advertising

We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the Site. Google Analytics uses cookies and similar identifiers to collect information such as pages visited, time on site, and general location, and processes it on our behalf. You can learn how Google uses this data at How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services, and you can opt out with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.

We may also use Google Ads, including conversion tracking and remarketing, which use cookies to show our messages to people who have visited our Site. You can control personalized advertising through Google Ads Settings and opt out of interest-based advertising generally at optout.aboutads.info.

7. Cookies and Do Not Track

You can set your browser to refuse some or all cookies, or to alert you when cookies are being set; parts of the Site may not work as well without them. Our Site does not currently respond to “Do Not Track” browser signals.

8. How We Share Information

We share personal information only with: service providers that help us run our website, fundraising, email, and text programs (such as Givebutter, our payment processors, and our communications tools), who may use it only to provide services to us; and authorities when we are legally required to do so. We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing.

9. Your Choices and Rights

You can unsubscribe from emails, opt out of texts (reply STOP), and update or correct your information at any time by contacting us. California residents may also request access to or deletion of the personal information we hold about them. We will never discriminate against you for exercising your privacy choices. To make a request, contact us using the details below.

10. Security and Retention

We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, and we keep it only as long as needed for the purposes described here or as required by law. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

11. Children

This Site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The effective date above reflects the most recent version, and significant changes will be noted on this page.
