Qui Johnson is an advocate, entrepreneur, and formerly incarcerated leader committed to taking her power back and showing up for women, youth, trans, nonbinary, and gender-expansive folks impacted by systems of oppression. With a background in Sociology and Psychology, her work is grounded in both lived experience and her time supporting her community.
Qui has worked directly with youth in community spaces, supported children and young adults with autism, and stood with mothers and families navigating challenges. She mentors, employs, and advocates for young people who have not always had someone in their corner.
She has organized in her community and worked with Young Women’s Freedom Center as a Self-Determination Coordinator, supporting system-impacted youth and helping them build direction in their lives. She has also engaged in advocacy and policy work that centers the voices of impacted communities and has been part of an all-women firefighting cohort.
