Participatory Defense

Participatory Defense is a community-led way to fight back against the legal system. People facing charges—and their families and supporters—come together to share knowledge, build support, and shape the outcome of their cases.

In our weekly meetings, we:

• Talk through each person’s case
• Create powerful “Social Bio” packets with support letters, reentry plans, and personal stories
• Practice speaking with lawyers
• Plan court support and next steps

Sister Warriors leads a statewide hub focused on helping women and trans people with post-conviction legal support. Many don’t have someone to advocate for them, so we show up as their community.

Our volunteer network includes people who’ve lived it and are ready to support, uplift, and stand with those still inside.
